Re: Other One> Wharf Rat |
Hey Now.
We've talked about this before.
8.19.1989 was an awesome version of this pair. The Other One was truly the most intense experience I ever had at a show and the Wahrf Rat was the perfect follow up. Nothing else would of worked.
I get chills now just thinking about it.

Re: Other One> Wharf Rat |
08-19-1989 second set is right up there as perhaps my favorite set from 89...China Rider is great...that cacophony of jam in the Other One had to really be something live at the Greek Theatre of all places!
first set Loser is top notch as well...(close to, but not quite as inspired as 03-24-1990)...

Re: Other One> Wharf Rat |
To this day I say that was the best show I saw out of about 200. The whole show was very intense. The first set started really hot with Let The Good Times Roll > Jack Straw. One of those Jack Straws that just explodes with the final lyrics. You are right, the Loser was also very hot. Box Of Rain to close the set was absolutely perfect. The second set picked up right where the fisrt left off. China > Rider was very high energy. Playin > Uncle Johns > Jam was what the Grateful Dead were all about. But that Other One. WOW...
My next shows after this were the Warlock shows in Hampton. I still say this was better...
